About Your Coach

At age 29, I thought my life’s choices were over and that my career was set for life. I hired a coach and my life’s never been the same.

Since that time I’ve beat cancer, walked through a divorce in freedom, bought and sold a house, found new love, developed a huge network of friends and supporters, developed a new career and celebrated the acheivement of an MBA. And I decided that since my coach was so helpful to me changing my life on my terms, I wanted to do the same for others.

Work Full.

At one time in my life I was running three non-profits, employed full time at a fourth organization, and attending school to get my Bachelor’s degree. When I put my work hat on - it’s on! I put my whole heart into the work I do. I’ve installed computer training centers for migrant and seasonal farmworkers, taught children how to take care of historic cemeteries, and led the development of a choir’s first full season of concerts.

Playful.

My favorite vacation is between Denver and Las Vegas. You can find me writing in my journal in a downtown Denver cafe, rafting down the Colorado River near Moab, Utah, hiking to Anasazi ruins in Canyon de Chelly in the Navajo Nation, and relaxing poolside at a resort in Vegas. This is my idea of play. Man, do I have the time of my life! Not to mention a sense of humor from risque to ridiculous.

Live Full.

I am bold, expressive, daring, exciting, passionate, caring, loving, curious, risk-taking, and embracing. It’s a choice I’ve made of how I’m going to live my life. I choose to experience the world in my way. I choose the characteristics of my life. I choose the dynamics of how I show up in the world. This is my life. And this is your life.

Ok, so I’m a fan of several of John Hughes’ movies who passed away last week. Vacation, Ferris Bueller, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Weird Science. Totally awesome. But as my entire generation probably can attest to, I am closely attached to The Breakfast Club. It’s certainly in my personal top ten movies of all time.

  • Jul 6, 2009 What I Learned About Climbing

Yesterday I climbed to the top of Mt. St. Helens. Here are some things I learned from the experience:

    I can climb a mountain.
    I do enjoy climbing mountains.
I don’t necessarily enjoy reaching the summit of a mountain.
I do enjoy bouldering and finding a path where there is no path.
When asked if I want to climb another [...]

So, today I battled my inner thoughts once again and stepped into a group training class at my gym. I knew that today was legs and lower body which is where I excel. You might say that’s my strength. However, I worked my legs out hard core two days ago so they were feeling wobbly. [...]

  • Jun 8, 2009 The Workout

For at least 4 months I have wanted to go to a class called Dynamic Group Training. Seems pretty simple but I have been afraid to go. My personal trainer had told me that I’m not quite ready for it, but that was a few months ago. Before I toned up. Before I rode 100 [...]

Yesterday I decided that I would set a goal and reach it five days in the future. By the time I woke up this morning, the goal was completed. Congratulations, right? Not so fast.
I must admit the thoughts in my head aren’t as simple as that. Sure, over the past few years I’ve learned the [...]
