Celebrate - right now!

Ok, so the shopping’s not done and the dog’s barking and you don’t know what to make for dinner and it’s cold out and the light’s burnt out in the fridge and the bills aren’t paid and the floor needs to be mopped and the family holiday party next week is going to be a pain and….

As Susan Powter used to say, “stop the insanity!” (I hope you got a little laugh out of that one…)

Take a moment as you read this to celebrate that you have this moment - right now. All you need to do is slow down, read these words, and remember that this moment is all there is. Isn’t this great - just you and me together, connecting over this blog entry. How simple is this moment right here and now?

Right now, I’m in my office taking a break to write this. I’ve got a glass of water - half full. My coworker just gave me a handful of microwave kettle corn. And I get this inspiration to write a blog entry, 7 days before Christmas. I still have things to do, but writing this fills me with love and compassion and peace of mind - and I’d rather have that than anything else in the world.

Homework:

Celebrate what you’re doing right now. That’s it. Throw confetti in the air. If you don’t have confetti, tear up an old paid bill and throw it in the air. If you don’t have any paid bills, tear up a piece of junk mail and throw it in the air. (Then recycle it and feel good about that too :)

Love and peace to you as you celebrate the holidays. I mean it.
