When it no longer works, do something else

Tonight I really stepped out of my comfort zone and met with a bunch of people I don’t know. I practiced something new because in order to move forward, I had to choose to take a step forward. No more waiting, processing, thinking, feeling, weighing, guessing, second guessing, listening, soul searching, investigating, considering, contemplating, meditating, theorizing, and postipulating.

Tonight I did. I did something new, challenging, different, outside my box. I did something out of my ordinary. I did something that surprised me. What I did was something that tons of people do everyday - and for me it was unchartered territory.

I was out of my element. I wasn’t completely in sync. I was awkward. I wanted to run half way through. I was totally aware of how I must look to everyone else in the room. I was uncomfortable much of the time. Yet I stayed.

I stayed out of my comfort zone because it will kill me if I stay there. If I stop growing, changing, broadening, stretching, building, and expanding, I will die. I didn’t want to die today. So I did this new thing.

Tonight I lived. Tomorrow I just may thrive.

Homework:

Choose one thing different to do today. Order a tofu taco just to get a reaction. Plant an onion bulb in the median of a boulevard. Massage your left big toe just to make the right one jealous. Don’t just sit there and think about these silly things - DO IT. No more waiting for life. Make your life happen. Today. Tonight. Now.

Truly Yours,
